Alaska Botanical Gardens.

Arctic horticulture and native plants are showcased in a 110-acre spruce and birch woodland in the Municipality of Anchorage. The garden is open year-round. Plan to picnic, bird watch, walk and hike, take pictures, paint, or read on your next summer visit! Winter visits will be a quiet walk or ski through our woodlands. No dogs allowed.

Operating hours

May 15 - September 15, Sunday - Saturday 9 am - 9 pm. September 16 - May 14, Sunday - Saturday - daylight hours. See website for admission fees.

Georgeson Botanical Gardens

The Georgeson Botanical Gardens, located on the University of Alaska campus, is a nationally recognized botanical garden and a member of a national network of educational and research institutions dedicated to plant culture and conservation. It is designed to allow the public to learn about plant culture in the far north. The GBG is one of five botanical gardens in America to be a satellite test garden for the International Hardy Fern Foundation.

Operating hours:

Daily, 9 am - 8 pm. May - September. See website for admission fees.
