View down Parliament Street

 

A view down Parliament Street showing the Treasury (a different frontage here to that which adjoins the Horse Guards). Parliament Street was built to complement Westminster Bridge (opened November 1750), necessitating the destruction of some of the narrower and overcrowded streets and yards surrounding Westminster.
