A Plan to divert the Road on the West Side of HighGate Hill

We're not entirely sure of the precise date of this plan - it could date from any time from the late eighteenth century to circa 1813. During this period there was an extended debate about how to avoid the steep Highgate Hill from London to the increasingly popular village of Highgate. This plan either dates from the period before the disastrous tunnel attempt of 1809 - 1812 or just after.
